'Tis Always Best to Start at the Beginning...
Steven was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and was raised by his father and mother with his younger brother on their 21 acre peach farm. Growing up Steven's father taught him the value of a dollar. He worked through technical academy rebuilding classic cars in his fathers shop. Unfortunately for Steven, South Africa requires all men of the age of 18 to serve in the military so he dawned a crew cut and guarded the boarder. That was a LONG two years.
Upon discharge, Steven picked up his backpack and headed to Europe visiting eight countries along his way. From there he made his way to America via Houston but quickly got to Austin. In the next year Steven traveled to 26 states and Toronto. From Canada he flew to Hawaii and then on to Australia. After a quick trip home, he came back to Austin to make his home in what he calls "the oasis".
Now, myself on the other hand is a completely different story. I was born and raised in a little bitty farm town in Illinois with my parents and an older sister. From a young age I learned the value of hard work and where it can take you in life. I began working with Habitat for Humanity and attended technical classes in high school focusing on residential construction. We spent our mornings driving nails and our afternoons doing algebra. After high school I attended the International Academy of Design and Technology in Nashville, TN majoring in architectural interior design.
This is where our stories merge. Steven was randomly in Nashville for a convention and we randomly met. He mentioned he had a house in Austin and he needed a woman's touch so I came to visit and reviewed the plans and he was right, it needed a woman's touch.
To make a long story short, after school, I moved down to Austin and built that house of his. We got married and got a puppy named Zooma. A few years later we completed the crew with the birth of our daughter. Now we're a happy family with a company that is well rounded. With Steven's engineering background and my construction and design background we get the job done.
So, as you can see, we're just the couple next door. Our job is to make it easy for you to build your house, or foundation, or building, with people you can trust and count on. We are those people.
Have a wonderful day and thank you for wanting to get to know us.
Many Blessings,
Carrie Brink
